techsbox vs SpotsPOS
SpotsPOS, which you may know as Repair Spots, is a point of sale that also tracks repairs. It publishes its prices, which most of this market does not. The smallest one is $45/mo for a single employee. techsbox starts at $15/mo and never asks how many people you have.

“Not published” means we did not find it stated on their own pages, so we do not state it either. It is not a claim that the feature is missing.
What it costs as you hire
SpotsPOS sells 1 employee for $45/mo, 3 for $74.99/mo and 10 for $89.99/mo. There is no per seat charge bolted on top, which is simpler than most of this market. The catch is that the tiers are the ladder, and the first rung is the steep one: hiring your second person takes you from $45/mo to $74.99/mo. Your eleventh runs off the end of the published page into a private quote.

Read from their pricing page on 2026-09-04. They say a yearly discount exists and then ask you to sign in to see it, so the figure is real and we do not have it: every number here is monthly against monthly. Our own annual discount is left out for the same reason, since including it would be our best price against their undiscounted one.
The core difference: a register with repairs attached, or a bench with a till missing
They are a point of sale first, and that is not a criticism
Their own first line is "repair tracking & point of sale", and the ladder above it is inventory, purchase orders, low stock reports, a vendor network and stock transfer between shops. That is a retail spine. If you sell cases, chargers and refurbished handsets over a counter as well as fixing things, techsbox has no register and SpotsPOS does. That is a real reason to pick them and we are not going to bury it in a footnote.
If you want texting on day one, they are cheaper than we are
SpotsPOS includes SMS credits from $45/mo. On techsbox, texting starts on Team at $49/mo. So for a one person shop that needs to text customers from the first week, their entry plan is genuinely the cheaper way in, by $4.00 a month. If you do not need texting yet, the comparison is $15/mo against $45/mo and it goes the other way.
The tiers are the employee ladder, so growth arrives in steps
Their Starter plan covers 1 employee, so the very first person you hire is not a line on the invoice, it is a move from $45/mo to $74.99/mo. The fourth takes you to $89.99/mo and the eleventh leaves the published page entirely. On techsbox headcount is not part of the price at all: the same $49/mo covers your second technician and your twentieth, and there is no plan you have to ask us about.
They publish their prices, and that deserves saying
Plenty of this market puts a Request pricing button where the number should be. SpotsPOS prints three figures on a public page and lets you read them without booking a demo. We are not going to pretend otherwise to win a row in a table.
What we do that a register does not
A public shop page on your own subdomain, a customer portal for checking a repair without ringing you, invoicing and online payment, and search across your own work history. Those are the parts of a repair shop that happen away from the counter, and they are what techsbox was built around.
When SpotsPOS is the right choice
If a real share of your money comes across a counter rather than off a bench, pick them. A till, purchase orders, low stock alerts and a parts vendor network are things we do not have, and no amount of pricing argument makes up for a shop that cannot ring up a screen protector. The same goes if you run several locations and want stock moving between them. The case for techsbox is the shop where the repair is the business: one or two people, devices on a shelf, a customer who wants a link to check progress, and a bill that does not change the month you hire somebody.
