techsbox vs RepairQ

RepairQ is a retail point of sale built for repair chains, and it bills that way: above the entry tier you buy a licence per storefront. techsbox is one flat price for your shop, and opening a second one does not change it.

“Not published” means their pricing page does not state it, so neither do we. It is not a claim that the feature is missing.

What it costs as you open stores

RepairQ's Essential tier is their first plan with unlimited tickets, and it is sold per location. So the honest comparison is not one plan against one plan, it is what each of us charges as your business grows a second address. Ours is the same number in every row, because location is not something we meter.

One shop$49/mo$90/moone licence
2 shops$49/mo$180/mo2 licences
3 shops$49/mo$270/mo3 licences

RepairQ figures are their published monthly rates, read from their pricing page on 2026-08-09. Their page says an annual plan costs less but does not publish the figure, so this compares monthly against monthly.

The core difference: a chain, or a shop

RepairQ is priced for a franchise, and you may not be one

Their higher tiers add multi-store management, franchise management, per-location catalogs and reporting automation. That is real engineering and worth paying for if you run twelve stores. If you run one, it is the most expensive part of the product and the part you will never open.

A second address should not double your software bill

Above Starter, RepairQ is billed per location, so a second shop means a second licence. techsbox charges for the shop, not the postcode: Team is $49/mo whether you have one bench or three.

Their cheap plan is cheap because it stops

Starter is $20/mo and looks close to ours. It covers one user and one location, and it caps you at 75 repair tickets a month once the first 90 days are over. That is roughly three a day. A shop that is working is a shop that has outgrown it, which is the point at which the real price starts.

Point of sale is their strength, and we do not have one

RepairQ grew out of retail: a till, a cash drawer, trade-in and buyback flows. If you sell cases and screen protectors over a counter and need that to reconcile at close of day, they do something we do not. We track the repair, invoice it and take payment online. Buy the right tool.

When RepairQ is the right choice

If you run several storefronts, sell a lot of accessories over the counter, or need franchise level controls and per-location catalogs, RepairQ is built for that and we are not. Their per-location pricing stops being the objection once each location is carrying its own licence anyway. If you are one shop, or a shop about to become two, paying by the address is a tax on growing.

One price, however many benches.
