techsbox vs PHP Point of Sale
PHP Point of Sale is retail software for independent stores, with work orders added for repair. It is priced per location with unlimited registers and employees, at $59/mo billed monthly. techsbox is built around the repair job itself: check-in, the bench, the customer update and the invoice, from $15/mo.

“Not published” means we did not find it stated on their own pages, so we do not state it either. It is not a claim that the feature is missing.
What it costs as you hire
PHP Point of Sale charges for the location, not the person. Standard is $59/mo and Pro is $84/mo when billed monthly, and both include unlimited employees, so hiring never changes their bill. Ours changes once: Solo is one person, and from the second person on, Team covers everyone.

The core difference: a register with work orders, or a system built around the repair
Read which price you are being shown
Their pricing page opens on annual billing: Standard shows as $54/mo billed annually and Pro as $79/mo billed annually. Flip the toggle and month to month is $59/mo and $84/mo. Both are published honestly and the annual discount is real. Just compare like with like: on monthly billing, ours is $49/mo for a whole team.
Repair is a module there, and the whole product here
PHP Point of Sale describes itself as retail software for independent businesses, and repair arrives as work orders inside it. techsbox starts from the device on the counter: check-in with the device condition and passcode, a job that moves through statuses your customer is emailed about, and an invoice at the end. If the repair is most of your revenue, that is the workflow you live in all day.
They sell a register and we do not
Unlimited registers, loyalty and gift cards, and a label designer and a receipt designer on Pro. We do not have a register for walk-in retail. Every sale on techsbox hangs off a repair job. If half your revenue is cases and chargers sold across the counter, that is a real reason to pick them.
One store per account here
Their price is per location and adding a store is a published line item. We do not have that. A second shop on techsbox is a second account on its own plan, with its own customers and inventory, and nothing is reported across the two.
What we do that they do not publish
A customer portal where people check their own repair status, a public shop page on your own subdomain that customers can find, a scheduling calendar for drop-offs, and search across your own work history on Pro.
When PHP Point of Sale is the right choice
If you run a retail store that also does some repairs, pick them. A register with unlimited tills and employees, loyalty and gift cards, label and receipt design, and several locations on one account is worth more than any row in the table above, and their per-location price is fair for that. The case for techsbox is the shop whose revenue is the repair itself: a system built around the job, a lower bill for one person, and one flat price for the whole bench.
