Getting Started
- What is techsbox?
- techsbox is repair shop management software that handles job tracking, invoicing, scheduling, customer management, and communication. It's built specifically for independent repair shops — phone repair, computer repair, electronics repair, and similar businesses.
- How do I sign up?
- Go to techsbox.com/auth/get-started. Enter your email, create your shop, and you're in. No credit card required. The whole process takes about 2 minutes.
- Is there a free trial?
- Yes. Every plan includes a 14-day free trial with full access to all features. No credit card required to start.
- What happens after the free trial?
- After 14 days, you pick a plan. No surprise charges. Your data sticks around for 30 days if you need more time to decide.
- How long does setup take?
- You can be up and running in under 5 minutes. Create your shop, invite your team, and start adding jobs. If you're migrating from another system, CSV import makes it fast.
Pricing & Billing
- How much does techsbox cost?
- Solo plan is $15/month (1 user), Team is $49/month (unlimited users), and Pro is $99/month (AI features + integrations). All plans include unlimited jobs and invoices. Annual billing saves 17%.
- Are there any per-user fees?
- No. Team and Pro plans include unlimited users at a flat monthly rate. Unlike Syncro ($129/user) or other tools, you'll never pay more because your team grows.
- Are there ticket or job caps?
- No. Every plan includes unlimited jobs and invoices. RepairShopr caps their starter plan at 75 tickets — we don't do that.
- Can I change plans later?
- Yes. Upgrade or downgrade anytime. Upgrades are prorated immediately. Downgrades take effect at your next billing date.
- Is there a setup fee or contract?
- No setup fees, no contracts, no cancellation penalties. Pay monthly or annually — cancel whenever you want.
- Do you offer annual billing?
- Yes. Pay annually and save 17% (2 months free). Contact us at techsbox.com/contact for annual billing details.
- What payment methods do you accept?
- We accept all major credit and debit cards through Stripe. Your billing information is securely handled — we never store card details on our servers.
Features
- What features are included in every plan?
- All plans include: unlimited jobs and invoices, customer management, scheduling, online booking, customer portal, CSV import/export, and email support. Team adds SMS and reporting. Pro adds AI search and QuickBooks.
- Can customers check their repair status online?
- Yes. The customer portal lets customers look up their repair status by email or phone number. No app download, no account creation required. Share the link or add it to your shop's public page.
- How do SMS notifications work?
- Shops connect their own Twilio account (you control the costs). When a job status changes, the customer automatically gets a text message. Available on Team and Pro plans.
- What is the AI-powered search?
- On the Pro plan, you can search your entire work history using natural language. Ask things like 'what iPhone screen repairs did we do last month?' or 'which customer had the MacBook with the keyboard issue?' and get instant answers.
- Does techsbox support online booking?
- Yes. Every shop gets a public page (yourshop.techsbox.com) where customers can view your services and book appointments directly. Bookings appear in your dashboard.
- Can I generate invoices from jobs?
- Yes. Create invoices with parts and labor line items, then send payment links to customers via text or email. Track payment status from your dashboard.
- Does techsbox integrate with QuickBooks?
- Yes. The Pro plan includes QuickBooks Online sync — customers and invoices sync automatically. Connect via OAuth in Settings > Integrations.
Migration & Compatibility
- Can I import data from RepairShopr, Syncro, or another system?
- Yes. Export your data as CSV from your current system, then use techsbox's CSV import to bring in customers and job history. The import tool maps columns automatically.
- Does techsbox work on mobile devices?
- Yes. techsbox is fully responsive and works in any modern web browser on phones, tablets, and desktops. A native mobile app is on the roadmap.
- What browsers are supported?
- Chrome, Firefox, Safari, and Edge — all current versions. techsbox is a modern web application that works in any up-to-date browser.
- Can I use techsbox offline?
- techsbox requires an internet connection. However, the app is optimized for fast loading and works well on slower connections.
Security & Privacy
- Is my data secure?
- Yes. All data is encrypted in transit (TLS) and at rest. Each shop's data is completely isolated. We use PostgreSQL on Neon with row-level security, and authentication is handled through passwordless magic links.
- Who can access my shop's data?
- Only users you invite. techsbox uses role-based access control: Owner, Admin, Technician, and Front Desk. Each role has specific permissions. No one outside your team can see your data.
- Can I export my data?
- Yes. CSV export is available on all plans. You always own your data and can take it with you.
- Where is my data stored?
- Data is stored in secure, encrypted PostgreSQL databases hosted in the United States. The application is deployed on Vercel's global edge network.
Shop Types
- What types of repair shops can use techsbox?
- Phone repair, computer repair, laptop repair, tablet repair, game console repair, electronics repair, and general device repair. If you have a bench and a queue of devices, techsbox was built for you.
- Does techsbox work for auto repair shops?
- techsbox is currently optimized for electronics and device repair shops. Auto repair has different workflow needs (VIN lookup, parts catalogs, labor guides). We plan to expand to additional service verticals in the future.
- Can I run multiple shop locations?
- Each shop gets its own workspace and subdomain. You can manage multiple shops from the same email account — switch between them like Slack workspaces.
- Is techsbox available outside the United States?
- Yes. techsbox works globally. Payments are processed in USD through Stripe, which supports international cards. The interface is in English.
